Things to Do

The days following the wedding, we would like to share with our guest the beauties of Panama. We will be posting our selection of tours (Prices per tour per person are around 100$ per person/day) and things to do, so we can plan ahead to share more time together. They will be tailored based on the responses we received from our guests and their interests in the RSVP. The following are just ideas for tours to plan together, and not necessarily the final choice of tours or days planned to do them.

Sunday, 17 November - Panama Canal

There are a few options today (guided tours or not), and we’ll try to pack as many things we can into the day. Times will not be exact. If we don’t make it to the Panama Canal Museum at the end of the day, feel free to leave earlier to make it there or visit on another day. We are going to take things easy today after having a fun night prior.

Option 1: Canal Tour By Boat. Patrica and Jason don’t want to wake up early to do this the day after the wedding. We will see the locks on land this day, but want to offer it to those that would like to travel by boat through the locks. The company will not know the exact time of the tour until 24 hours before due to lock transit scheduling. This tour lasts a majority of your day.

To book, contact Aventuras 2000 Tour Company - Message on WhatsApp: +507 6147-5683

Option 2: For those not on the boat tour, mid-morning we can all head to the Miraflores Locks Visitor Center to see the canal and lock operations. Afterwards, if people are interested we can stop at the French Cemetery in Paraiso which has the graves and information boards related to the French attempt to build the canal and/or the Corozal American Cemetery that is managed by the American Battle Monuments Commission. They have a small visitor center highlighting people and events that took place in the Canal Zone from the American perspective.

Following that, we will go to Panama Veijo which was the original Spanish settlement on the Pacific coast built in 1519 that was sacked by the famous pirate Captain Henry Morgan (like the rum) in 1670. After the attack, the Spanish decided to rebuild the city of Panama where Casco Vejio is now (where the wedding is at). This is also where the 82nd Airborne jumped in during Operation Just Cause. After touring Panama Veijo if there is time, we can stop at the Panama Canal Museum in Casco Veijo near where the wedding reception was held. This has great exhibits and artifacts from the Panama Canal.

Afterwards on our way back to Panama City, we will stop at Fort Sherman which was one of the American bases with coastal artillery positions slowly being overtaken by the jungle after the US gave control of the canal zone back to Panama in 1999.
